Injustice and spirituality

In the material world and specifically here on Earth there is what we call injustice. Much injustice. Apparently. Although it is laudable to work to alleviate the worst of it and create the conditions for a better world, in the end the most important is the spiritual work on oneself.

We all know about the so-called 1%, the super-rich people of this world who have so much that they seem to be drowning in cash. This is obviously unfair and revolting. And few of them 'deserve' what they have. In most cases it has been obtained trough suspicious means that have no spiritual base for sure. The worst thing is to feel envy towards them. As I said it is important to work on social justice but it is not about the 1%. In a way I sometimes think it is good that this situation exists because people are relentless in consuming and wasting time and money on "things". The satisfaction of needs has become an obsession and creates a world of garbage. So at least the fact there is this 1% having it all limits the disaster that cunsumption is having on this very planet, because with the little left for the rest of us, pollution and garbage are piling up like crazy all over the world. The mad dog has to be on leash.

Life is not about money, consumption and work to achieve this cycle. Although it is only fair to live comfortably, the level of comfort we are looking for is fortunately unreachable by the majority of people on this planet. What we call the ecological footprint has its purpose. It shows exactly what I am talking about.

It seems very hard to grab yet if we do not have a sound spiritual base any economical, political, social system won't achieve much and it all start with oneself. Anyone who is stealing other's life will not go far in the spiritual world even though one might live in a castle with 10 cars at the door down here, it just shows the low level of spirituality. It has nothing to do with going to church every Sunday in a Mercedes. This is hypocritical.

It is what you do and think that counts. There are many ways of stealing from others. In today's world real estate speculation has become a real game to gain. It is destroying entire lives and neighbourhoods all over the world. It creates unrest. So are other forms of profiteering such as the stock market speculative nature. Retirement funds are made of these. So to achieve one's own so-called retirement one is stealing from others. The whole financial system is a world of theft. erything has to change to the core. The goals are totally unacceptable at any level of spirituality. I am not saying poverty is the road to high level of spirituality. Fairness is closer to what one can achieve it this life, here and elsewhere in the universe.

The whole history of man has been about conquest and envy. We don't have to be rich or a scholar to know that. Jesus and others have been warning about this for centuries and the message is not heard. Other people are also taking advantage of the ignorance of others by creating churches that are just giving false hope. Most churches are falsely using the scriptures of phophets to gain attention and increase their membership. Their base is to show an easy path towards spiritual achievement.

It took me decades to understand this and from the begining of my adult life I have been restless with the apparent injustice that exists in all manners in this world. Even though I had the opportunity to be 'initiated' at an early age, it took me a long time to accept what I was told as being just. It's amazing because I had to struggle with myself all the time, having a real hard time accepting that this world is the way it is because we make it the way it is. So I've decided to leave it there. To stop complaining about this apparent injustice and work on myself instead because I cannot force others to go my way. Just to try to be the best person I can be and maybe help others if they want it. People who are not asking for help don't need help. It is only fair to ask for it and to not offer free advice if not asked for. It is a pledge and a bet I am having. A pledge and a bet with myself and about what I was told a long time ago as being the way it works.

The World Stage and Us

From the standpoint we have the situation of the world is more or less good. If one lives in wealth and insouciance, it goes without saying that the world goes relatively well. On the other hand if one is poor, indebted, sick or handicapped, one is more likely to find the world not working well. It is even getting worse if one watches the news. There is enough evidence in there to be at least worry about the world. One has the feeling that we will never free ourselves of this mess.

This "revolt" is healthy but it got to make sense because one has barely any control on the world affairs, except by contributing to them in a positive way. Obviously, one might say it will have no effect on things which is not the purpose here on a macro level but rather on a micro level: ours. Each positive thought, each positive gesture one does is like a point of acupuncture one administers on the surface of Earth as if it were a skin, to ease the pain and heal.

Like many people I am horrified by what is going on in Syria, among other places. How have we ended up in this situation and what can be done to remedy this endless and senseless war in a country that not long ago seemed peaceful, economically stable with beautiful cities, etc. No need to give me a lesson in the geopolitics of the Middle East. I am pretty well aware of it with its share of colonialism, imperialism, petroleum, etc. Yet if one wants to bring back peace in this part of the world (or any for that matter) one has to look at the geopolitical history and from there conceive a plan to rewind toward a modus vivendi and a modus operandi; a return to peace if that is what we want.

The same questioning goes on for anything else I guess. What to do? One can choose to participate in activities which goals serve to alleviate the worst aspects of one's life, hence of this society, whichever the cause. One has to remember though that one is more or less responsible about what is going on. Everything is linked one way or the other. At one's level the way one thinks and acts might trigger misfortune and hardship elsewhere, something we often wish to ignore.

The list of acts one can do at one's level is quite long to make things better. In our consuming society, we buy many things which origins might have a great deal of mishaps before arriving on a store shelves, etc. We thus all contribute to the world affairs as they are.

And always one must remember that we are here in transit. The existence on the Other Side can resemble what it is here only in the lowest levels of spirituality. Higher one is climbing the steps of spirituality, farther are the types of absurd situations that makes the daily life down here sometimes excruciating. Situations of conflicts are limited to the lowest part of spirituality. That makes one being a detainee to wish to stay here. Yet we must make the best of it, being the best we can if we don't want to go through the process of being caught in fights of all kinds going on also in the lowest levels of spirituality.
